Stephanie Ready

Stephanie Ready is the first woman to coach in men's professional sports. Ready is the new assistant coach, of the National Basketball Development League's Greenville Groove.

Ready, who served as assistant softball coach, graduated cum laude from Coppin State with a B.S. in psychology in 1998. The Takoma Park, Maryland, native was a two-sport star at Coppin State (Baltimore, MD), lettering twice in volleyball and four times in basketball. She currently ranks second on CSC's all-time volleyball chart in kills (165) and is seventh in digs (120). Also an outstanding basketball player, she ranks among the top 10 in four categories on the school's all-time basketball charts, steals (2nd), assists (4th), points (8th) and rebounds (10th).

This marks a new era in both coaching and professional sports. I look forward to following Steph's career.

Note: I intended to post this when it was announced, I failed to do so b/c of the zoo-like transition that has been taking place at the firm.

*Would be interesting to know what Cheryl Miller's thoughts are on this...*
